I was first drawn to carpentry and woodworking way, way back when I was kid. My Dad would be hammering and sawing away down in the basement of our house on some particular project he had simmering in his head. I had always hoped he was secretly working on a tree house or rocket ship so of course I would have to investigate to see if my hopes would come to fruition.

What I did find out after being drafted as an apprentice (glorified board holder) was that because of our tight budget (I didn’t know there were two sisters on the way!) he had begun construction on a complete workout room to include a bench press, leg and butterfly pull, squat rack, latte slide and an assortment of other machines with pulleys and tension wires and so on.

The thing that amazed me the most especially as I became a little older and more appreciative of my Dad’s skill as a carpenter was that everything was made of WOOD! You see my Dad’s philosophy was “if you need something, build it!”

Then of course he would go on to remind me of the Wright brothers (which he always said were distant relations of ours, his mothers maiden name was Wright) building the first airplane out of wood. First ship….wood. Loom, printing press, as you know the list goes on.

So ladies and gentlemen I was hooked, hooked on the idea that anything is possible, hooked on the idea that furniture is sculpture, life can be art, and that design is only limited to what ends your imagination might take you. Hope you enjoy the site! Drop me a message and say hello! It’s time to create!
